TROY AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

TROY, PENNSYLVANIA

 

June 2, 2004

 

 

              A special meeting of the Troy Area School District Board of Education was called to order at 6:05 p.m. in the Middle School library by President Morgan.  The following members were in attendance:

Mr. Balmer              Mrs. Fox                       Mr. Morgan                     

Mr. Curren               Mrs. May                      Mr. Olsyn

Mr. Debach             Mrs. McKerrow                                         

 

Mrs. Morse was absent.

 

              Also in attendance were:  Mr. Grantier, Superintendent; Mrs. Decker, Business Administrator; Solicitor Williams, as well as district citizens and staff.

 

              President Morgan announced the director held an Executive Session on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, for personnel and contract issues.

Executive Session

The directors adjourned to an executive session from 6:05 p.m. until 6:35 p.m. for the purpose of contract issues.

Fact Finder’s Report – Support Personnel                

Mr. Debach made a motion, second by Mrs. McKerrow, to reject the Fact Finder’s report in its entirety as presented by Lynne M. Mountz for the support staff personnel for the period of 2002/03 through 2008/09.  The roll call vote was as follows:

Mrs. May – Yes                          Mr. Balmer – Yes

Mrs. McKerrow – Yes                Mr. Curren – Yes

Mr. Morgan – Yes                      Mr. Debach – Yes

Mr. Olsyn – Yes                          Mrs. Fox – Yes

At this time, Mr. Debach read a statement on behalf of the negotiation committee and the Board of Education.

Negotiation Committee

Mr. Olsyn made a motion, second by Mrs. McKerrow, granting permission to the members of the negotiations committee to enter back into negotiations with the support staff association.  On a voice call, there were 8 yes votes.

Meeting Establishment

On a motion made by Mr. Curren, second by Mrs. May, Mr. Grantier was issued a directive to contact Mr. Clark Conner, Mediator, to establish a mutually agreeable date and time for a negotiations committee meeting with the support staff personnel.  On a voice call, there were 8 yes votes.

Adjournment

On a motion made by Mr. Debach, second by Mr. Curren, the meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
