ALPS I - The Classroom Connection

ALPS - The Classroom Connection will provide educators with a framework that will help transfer the experiential education concept into the classroom and promote leadership, trust, teambuilding and problem-solving skills. The course will be especially beneficial for new teachers, as it introduces the importance and main components of establishing community in the classroom. This is an activity-based course that is supplemented with theory, through which practical application will be examined.

ALPS II Creative Facilitation in the Classroom

ALPS II Creative Facilitation in the Classroom is designed for the K-12 educator, and emphasize the concepts of Experiential Education, Teambuilding, Creativity and Innovation, and Developing Facilitation Skills. It will provide the guidelines for thinking through a design process that will enhance the educator's role as a facilitator in the classroom. This design process will be based on sequencing activities associated with curriculum and content. It will also promote an understanding of the potential creativity educators and students possess.

The ALPS philosophy of encouraging and accommodating a full range of participant diversity is essential. The concept of Multiple Intelligences is emphasized and built into the activities presented. Strategies will be used to help educators process ideas and analyze current practices for both personal and student success. It is a belief that immersion in experiential opportunities in learning will foster application and retention of information that is gained..
