Line Ups

Line ups are great Introductory activities / icebreakers or can be a good transitional tool within the classroom. On a Line Up, the teacher announces a dimension upon which students may line up. the students may line up on a characteristic like height, in which the teams line up from shortest to tallest. There can even be thematic curriculum connections such as Social Studies, where if you were studying the Constitution, students could be given the names of the state ratifying the constitution and get in order of the date of occurrence. The possibilities are endless.
